Community Service Hours
On January 7, 1997 the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District Board of Education voted in favor of a community service graduation requirement. This requirement is designed to encourage student participation in worthwhile social service activities as part of the high school curriculum.
**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PYLUSD Board of Education has altered the number of community service hours required for each graduating class. Below is the current requirement for PYLUSD students. Please keep in mind that this is tentative and can be changed at any time.
Class of 2023 – 20 Community Service Hours Required
Class of 2024 – 30 Community Service Hours Required
Class of 2025 – 40 Community Service Hours Required
Class of 2024 – 30 Community Service Hours Required
Class of 2025 – 40 Community Service Hours Required
Class of 2026 – 40 Community Service Hours Required

Requirements:
- All students must complete 40 hours of community service before graduation
- Hours must be served at a "non-profit" location
- Community Service supervisor must sign off on our Community Service Form
- Community Service Forms must be turned in within 30 days of completion pf hours
- Community Service Hours may not be completed during school hours (district policy)
