Dear Future Aztec Parents and Students,
Thank you for considering Esperanza as a partner in your student’s educational journey. Though the current situation does not allow for us to have visitors or events face-to-face on campus we have created a wide variety of virtual opportunities for you and your students to experience all we have to offer at Esperanza High School. Please review the list of opportunities and resources below. For more specific information on athletics, academics, special programs/academies, and counseling/support here at Esperanza High School, you can also visit our website (https://www.esperanzahs.net/) and explore the links across the top of the homepage.
If you were not able to attend our Virtual Showcase on December 2nd, we have compiled all of the presentations and session recordings for our Medical Sciences Academy, Engineering and Manufacturing Academy, CTE Pathway programs, Visual and Performing Arts programs, Athletics session, Distinguished Scholars session, AP/Honors courses session, and Counseling session for you to review for more information.
2. "Virtual Campus Tour" Q&A with Principal Aguilar
As mentioned during the Showcase, we are currently unable to host in person campus tours, so we have compiled the resources above to help you (virtually) visit our state of the art facilities, hear directly from our teachers, listen to alumni/student testimonials, and experience the PRIDE and Tradition of Excellence through our campus and programs. For your "virtual tour" experience, please first click the links above to review the videos and presentations related to the programs you are most interested in. If you have further questions about the program(s), please complete this form to sign up for a 20 minute "virtual tour follow up" which will be a private Q&A Zoom session with Principal Aguilar or another member of our admin team. As you fill in this form, any specific information on what your student is interested in will help us prepare for your Q&A session.
Whether your student is an in-district choice transfer, in-district zoned for Esperanza, or out-of-district Interdistrict Transfer, if they are interested in our Medical Sciences Academy, Aztec Engineering and Manufacturing Academy, or Air Force JROTC please click above to complete an academy application. More information on each academy can be found under the programs tab of the EHS homepage.
Esperanza High School is proud to offer our Distinguished Scholars Program, an academically rigorous program that recognizes students who take the most challenging courses offered on our campus. The students who complete the requirements of this program position themselves to have the best opportunity for admission to the most prestigious and competitive universities nationwide. For more information, you can click HERE to visit our Distinguished Scholars webpage. Please note this application is only for incoming freshmen to EHS.
5. AVID Applications: Due April 23rd, 2021
If you live in PYLUSD but Esperanza is not your home school, you can complete a School Choice Application through the Student Services office January 6th - February 12th to request a transfer to Esperanza. Note that students accepted into one of our Academies do not also need to complete a School Choice Application.
To navigate between locations you can 1) click the arrows on the right or left sides of the screen to move through the tour chronologically, 2) use the menu at the top left to visit a specific location, or 3) click the yellow location bubbles to navigate freely through the campus. Please note that you will need to double click the "speaker" bubble at each virtual location to play (or restart) the audio tour for that location.
Note that the interactive tour linked above in item #5 includes more locations around campus as well as an informative narration on each location, but our video tour will give you an overview of the campus layout as well as a brief visit of our academies, arts, and athletics facilities.
