Welcome to Our Classroom!

My name is Meredith Castro, and I’m so excited to be part of your student’s learning journey this year. I’ve been teaching Language Arts and Algebra for 26 years—25 of those right here at Esperanza High School. I also serve as the Academic Services Department Chair and Election Chairperson for APLE.

I’m a proud Yorba Linda native and have lived here for the past 48 years. I went to Mable Paine Elementary, Yorba Linda Middle School, and Troy High School before earning my Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from Cal State Fullerton and my Master’s in Special Education from National University.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family, traveling to new places, and curling up with a good book. I’ve been married for 30 wonderful years and have three amazing children—all proud Esperanza graduates!

Teaching is truly my passion, and I’m dedicated to creating a classroom where students feel supported, challenged, and encouraged to grow. I’m looking forward to a great year ahead and can’t wait to see all we’ll accomplish together!
