the European theater of war focus on three major campaigns the first was Operation Torch in North Africa which lasted from 1942 to 1943 the second was the Italian Campaign which lasted from 19 33 - 1945 and the last operation overboard or the invasion of France which began on June 6th 1944 and went all the way until the end of the war what do United States in the war and allied with Great Britain the time came for an Allied War plan on December 22nd 1941 Amir 15 days after the attack on Pearl Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill met to design the Allied plan for victory the friendship between these two men would become legendary the special relationship between these two men with all of the relationship between the United States and Great Britain during the war alliance of the United States Great Britain and the Soviet Union the Allied Powers cannot counter the Axis powers in every theater for the longest lasting battle of World War II was the Battle of the Atlantic planes in the Atlantic Ocean Hitler knew that the United States is able to ship supplies to the Allies would make the task of defeating the Nazis much easier Hitler's goal is to start about the British and the Soviets bow light forces from supplying a landing in Europe the entire battle the Atlantic was fought in the oceans between Nazi U-boats and the Allied Forces not to you both would form wolf packs in which group can you about the hunt together to take out cargo ship Supply in Europe in order to convey this to the Allies use the convoy system the convoy system is when destroyers would accompany cargo ships in order for protection these destroyers could hunt down U-boats and protect Allied cargo ships the Allies were able to overcome these Nazi wolf packs and create a safe journey to Europe to supply the war with Hitler in a non-aggression pact with Stalin he invaded the Soviet Union this is known as Operation Barbarossa by the spring of 1942 after a bitter winter the Nazis easily rolled through Union took on the Soviets at the Battle of Stalingrad and crush the industrial city of Stalingrad an extra incentive was that the city was conductor the Soviet Union's Premier Joseph Stalin this will be a key propaganda victory for the Nazis the Nazis have rolled through Stalingrad in the Soviets were on their heels the German seemed Unstoppable Soviets dug in their heels and did not want to surrender the City by September of 1942 the Germans had 90% of the city when the winter set in with the Nazi stopped Soviet Red Rushton reinforcements for a Counterattack surrounded Frozen and starving German troops ended the siege and they surrender Stalingrad was a turning point on the Eastern Front this victory I need Heather's hopes for Conquering the Soviet Union nickname Old Blood and Guts General George Patton America's 7th Army against Germany's Afrika Corps led by General Erwin Rommel Rommel known as The Desert Fox because of his cunning and his Mastery of tank warfare in desert conditions the tactics and battles between these two generals would become legendary at the beginning of campaign America suffered a series of devastating defeats which were quickly followed by magnificent victories as US troops gained valuable experience against a tough Africa core by May 1943 British troops were pushing the Nazis East out of Egypt love United States 7th Army advance from Morocco and Algeria by the summer of 1943 the Nazis were forced to abandon their positions in Northern Africa and Retreat through Tunisia the North Africa campaign was a success and a victory for the Allies Hitler was now in repeat in the Eastern front and the southern front and the Allies plan their next move with the success of the North African campaign the Allies can now turn their Focus On Loosely an attacking Italy the goal of the Italian campaign can invade Sicily Army dominates the Italian forces and captures the island from Sicily and Tunisia US troops invaded the Italian Peninsula with the guys on the attack the Italian Resistance collapses and the access are forced to retreats in Northern Italy with the Italian military being pushed up towards Germany the Italian people begin who's faith in Benito Mussolini and his quest for a new Roman Empire doubting him as a leader they decided that it's time for him to be removed from office and he is deposed when people decide that they no longer want to side with Hitler and his thirst for World Conquest so they decide to defect to the side of the Allies meaning that they are now joining the Allied Powers Hitler play Massive reinforcements Hitler and the Germans defending Italy at all costs Italy would become a bloody and hard-fought campaign December 1943 with Heather trying to reinforce Italy in the bloody stalemate and his troops in full retreat in the East The Big Three Roosevelt install it met in Tehran Iran at the Tehran Conference at the cops that leaders of the three Allied Powers committed to opening up a new front in the west by rating northern France with the Soviet Red Army applying pressure in the Eastern front and Allied Forces working their way to Germany's border the South the Allied Powers decided that the time would come invade northern France and therefore open up a new front of the West the surrounding Hitler on three sides from here the pressure could be applied to finally end the war in Europe the invasion of Western Europe would not be easy and require a large sacrifice and success was by no means assured it would require the courage and the sacrifice greatest Generation to successfully pull off this Invasion to achieve Victory and bring peace back to Europe and the rest of the world the sacrifices would become Graber and the state would become higher in the days to come if the Allied Powers were to defeat Hitler and win World War II
