Computer and Digital Resource Information

Usage Policy:

A current EHS ID (Identification Card) card is required for independent student computer use in the library, per EHS rules.

Your current EHS ID states the following regulations:

1. This is your official school identification and should be carried by you at all times on campus and at school related events.
2. It is also considered SCHOOL PROPERTY.

Use the Chrome browser instead of Explorer since Chrome works better with Google documents.

Be sure to log off the computer when you finish.

All PYLUSD computers keep a record of all activity in your account and you could be blamed for inappropriate searching or other computer use.

Library computers are for school related research only. Scheduled classes have priority. Computers are normally available before school, at break, and after school (except Friday after school when we close at 3:00 PM) when the library is not conducting classes or hosting another organized event. Please check the library homepage regarding class and other usage requiring closure of the library.

Printing Policy:

Computer Printouts

There is currently only black and white printing available. Color copies are available at local public libraries.

The first 3 pages are free per day with current EHS ID card.

Beyond the first three free pages, we request a $0.25 per B/W page regardless of whether you meant to print them or not. Be careful!

Always ASK the library staff if you need help with printing!

Photo Copier
A photocopier is available for a $.25 per side charge. Please see a library aide or staff member for assistance.

Usage Details:

All of the EHS Library's computers run Microsoft Windows 7 with Office 15. Printouts are available. Newer versions of Word, Excel, and Powerpoint will not open on most library computers, so save work to the version we have for use in the library.

You may save work to older versions of Word, Excel and Powerpoint by clicking on the "save as type" drop down menu under the "file name" box on the save as pop up page.

Please remember to point and not touch an LCD flat screen or overclick the mouse. With a current EHS ID card with INTERNET on it, students are allowed 3 free black and white printed pages per day.

Always LOG OUT when you leave a school (or any) shared computer.
